# geolith builder

The geolith builder is a Rust program that turns Overture Maps and OpenStreetMap data into two artifacts: a PMTiles vector tile archive that follows the Protomaps basemap schema, and the `.glx` geocoding index that [geolith Search](/search/hosted/overview) answers from. One build writes both, so names on the map and names in search come from the same data.
